Terms of Use
Effective 15 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you (a parent or guardian) and Tutzy. By creating an account you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Who can use Tutzy
- You must be 18 or over to create an account, and be the parent or legal guardian of any student you add.
- Students use Tutzy under your supervision. You are responsible for what they do in the app.
- One account is for one household. Each student login is for one child. Please do not share a login between children or between families.
2. What Tutzy is
Tutzy is an AI study helper. It explains topics, gives hints and practice questions. It can make mistakes, so important facts should be checked. Tutzy is not a school or a teacher. It does not give legal, medical or counselling advice. It does not guarantee any school result, or that any home education registration or reporting requirement is met. That stays with the family.
3. Plans, trial and payment
- Paid plans are monthly subscriptions bought through the Apple App Store. Prices are in Australian dollars and are shown in the app before you buy.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel in your Apple account settings, at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under its rules. This does not limit your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- Each plan has limits on messages, students and "Think harder" answers. They are shown in the app. Unused amounts do not carry over to the next month.
- A short free trial is available once per household, device and email address. Creating extra accounts to get more trials is not allowed.
- Photos and documents count as 2 messages. The app shows the cost before sending.
4. Fair use
Do not misuse Tutzy. For example: trying to break or overload the service, copying it, sharing logins, using it to cheat on supervised exams, or entering harmful, unlawful or abusive content. We may limit or end access if these terms are broken.
5. Safety
If a message suggests a student may be unsafe, Tutzy may encourage them to talk to a trusted adult and may alert the parent. In an emergency call 000. Kids Helpline: 1800 55 1800.
6. Your content
Students' messages belong to the family. You give us permission to process them only to run Tutzy, as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Our responsibility
Our services come with guarantees under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Apart from those, and as far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for mistakes in AI answers. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, it is limited to resupplying the service or the cost of resupply.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in the app (see Delete account). Deleting the account does not cancel an Apple subscription. Cancel that in your Apple account settings.
9. Changes and law
We may update these terms and will tell you about important changes. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.
